Bluegrass band Alan Bibey & Grasstowne—Grammy-nominated bandleader and two-time International Bluegrass Music Association Mandolin Player of the Year Alan Bibey, banjo player Justin Jenkins, bass player Zak McLamb, vocalist and fiddler Kati Penn, and flat-picker and rhythm guitarist Tony Watt— formed in 2007. The group’s song “Gonna Rise and Shine” was named the IBMA’s Gospel Recording of the Year in 2020, and their song “Hitchhiking to California” was nominated for the IBMA’s Song of the Year award in 2021. Presented as part of the annual Museum celebration Bluegrass and Beyond, supported by Rick and Kit Crump in honor of George A. and Marjorie S. Crump. Ford Theater. Included with Museum admission.
