Teen Team FAQs
Teens–ages fourteen to seventeen or high school freshmen to seniors–who have a friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and an interest in learning new things are a great fit for Teen Team. No previous experience is necessary. Bring an open mind, the ability to work with a diverse group of people, and a desire to be an excellent representative of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The minimum age for volunteers for Teen Team is fourteen, an incoming high school freshman. Teens may volunteer until they graduate from high school.
Teen volunteers should be friendly, dependable, have a desire to learn and help, and conduct themselves in a professional manner. Teen volunteer candidates must also pass a background check (paid for by the Museum).
Volunteers are essential to the Museum’s mission and daily operations. Teen Team members should be willing to commit to one assignment a month. Teen Team will mostly volunteer on weekends.
Teen volunteers will receive training during an on-site orientation, where they will learn about Museum policies and procedures, customer service, safety protocols, as well as the initial training and locations of each volunteer opportunity. They will also have the opportunity to participate in fun learning experiences and social activities designed specifically for Teen Team volunteers.
Teens who drive can park for free in the Museum’s garage. Don’t drive? No worries. The Museum is a 15-minute walk from WeGo Central. WeGo Public Transit routes 6, 52, and 55 stop one block away from the Museum’s entrance.
We do not currently offer volunteer opportunities for teens at either location.
The Museum would love for teens to be a part of our team, so we do not offer one-time volunteer opportunities for individual teens. We may be able to accommodate a one-time volunteer opportunity for your high school club. Please e-mail the Volunteer Programs Department at volunteer@countrymusichalloffame.org to discuss.
The Museum does not offer virtual volunteer opportunities for teens.
Please notify the volunteer programs manager if you need to leave Teen Team. You’ll then return your volunteer vest and name tag.
