Try your hand at the electric guitar and explore the music presented in Muscle Shoals: Low Rhythm Rising. Electric guitars—including Duane Allman’s sunburst-finish Fender Stratocaster, which is currently on display in the exhibit—were an essential part of the distinctive Muscle Shoals sound. Museum educator Adam Ollendorff will guide participants in this informal experience using music recorded in Muscle Shoals, including Wilson Pickett’s cover of “Hey Jude” and Percy Sledge’s “When a Man Loves a Woman.” Come make music with us! Offered in support of the exhibition Muscle Shoals: Low Rhythm Rising. All ages. Taylor Swift Education Center. Included with Museum admission. Free to Museum members.
