NASHVILLE, Tenn., August 17, 2017 – The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will feature award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mac McAnally in the next installment of the museum signature series Nashville Cats. The interview and performance, hosted by musician and songwriter Bill Lloyd, takes place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in the museum’s Ford Theater. Following the program, McAnally will sign CDs and commemorative Hatch Show Print posters purchased from the Museum Store.

McAnally was Country Music Association Musician of the Year for an unprecedented eight consecutive years, starting in 2008. He is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and has written hits for Alabama, Kenny Chesney, and Sawyer Brown. Additionally, McAnally is a studio owner and an accomplished producer, and he has recorded more than a dozen albums as an artist himself. His upcoming release, Southbound (Sept. 22), is a collection of McAnally’s original material, newly arranged for orchestra, and performed with members of the FestivalSouth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jay Dean. McAnally is a longtime member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and has worked on projects for Kenny Chesney, Nanci Griffith, George Jones, George Strait, Keith Whitley and Trisha Yearwood.

This program is included with museum admission and free to museum members. Seating is limited, and passes are required for admittance. The Nashville Cats series features virtuoso musicians whose work has had a significant impact on Nashville and its music.
