Cold Mountain, the 2003 film based on Charles Frazier’s 1997 novel of the same name, tells the story of a wounded Confederate Army deserter making his way home to North Carolina to reunite with his love, Ada Monroe, portrayed by Nicole Kidman. T Bone Burnett produced the film’s soundtrack, which features Appalachian, roots, and old-time music performed by musicians including Alison Krauss, Stuart Duncan, Tim O’Brien, and Jack White. This screening will begin with a moderated conversation with Kidman, led by the Nashville Film Festival’s Lauren Thelen. The event will include remarks from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum highlighting the impact of the film’s score and soundtrack.

Presented in partnership with the Nashville Film Festival. CMA Theater. Included with Museum admission. Program ticket required. Free to Museum members.
