Luke Combs’s cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” won Single of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2023 Country Music Association Awards. His love of the song dates back to his childhood, when he would listen to music—including Chapman’s 1988 album that features “Fast Car”—in the car with his father.
