Houston-born singer-songwriter Sunny Sweeney found success in Texas with her self-released debut album, 2006’s Heartbreaker’s Hall of Fame, which was reissued the following year on Big Machine Records after Sweeney signed with the Nashville-based label. Her sophomore album, 2011’s Concrete—released on Big Machine Label Group’s Republic Nashville label—included the Billboard Hot Country Songs Top Ten single “From a Table Away,” which Sweeney co-wrote. She has independently released her three most recent albums: Provoked (2014), which includes the Texas Country Music Chart #1 singles “Bad Girl Phase” and “My Bed”; Trophy (2017); and Married Alone (2022), which is an Americana Radio Albums chart-topper. Sweeney is featured in the Museum’s exhibition American Currents: State of the Music. Ford Theater. Included with Museum admission. Program ticket required. Free to Museum members.
