Musician Spotlight: The Ornaments
Since 2005, the Ornaments’ annual performances of Vince Guaraldi’s music from A Charlie Brown Christmas have become a seasonal Nashville tradition. The jazz ensemble features pianist Jen Gunderman, bassist James Haggerty, and drummer Martin Lynds. Gunderman has been a touring member of Sheryl Crow’s band since 2013 and is an active studio player and live musician. She has performed with Garth Brooks, Brandi Carlile, Peter Frampton, Kris Kristofferson, John Mayer, Michael McDonald, Willie Nelson, Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, James Taylor, and many others. Haggerty is a freelance musician and writer who has shared stages and studios with artists such as the Autumn Defense, Steve Cropper, the Original Blues Brothers Band, and Josh Rouse. He is also a member of the band Joe, Marc’s Brother; the founder of the bossa nova group Hags-A-Nova; and a longtime writer for the magazine The East Nashvillian. Lynds tours with Chuck Mead & the Stalwarts and also performs and records with Bobby Bare, Rodney Crowell, Kevin Gordon, Marah, Marty Stuart, and others.
