Musician Spotlight: Emerald Rae with Oisín Cooke and Eamonn Dillon
Emerald Rae is a fiddler and folksinger from Gloucester, Massachusetts, with a degree in film scoring from Berklee College of Music. In 2013, she released her debut album, If Only I Could Fly, which highlighted both her vocal abilities and her skills on fiddle, guitar, and the crwth, an ancient Welsh fiddle (pronounced “krooth”). Rae’s 2018 self-titled album demonstrated her stylistic range on her fiddle, which she used to emulate the sounds of bagpipes, flamenco guitar, electric guitar, slap bass, and ukulele. The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival selected her for its Emerging Artist Showcase that same year. Rae will be accompanied by Eamonn Dillon and Oisín Cooke. Presented in partnership with Music City Irish Fest. Ford Theater. Included with Museum admission. Program ticket required. Free to Museum members.
