Appalachia is the acoustic duo of Richie Owens and Bob Ocker. Their performances celebrate the deep roots of Appalachian tradition and the voices that shaped American folk and country music. A direct descendant of Appalachian preacher-songwriter Jake Owens and a cousin to Country Music Hall of Fame member Dolly Parton, Owens is an author, award-winning music producer, filmmaker, and multi-instrumentalist. His credits span from producing Parton’s Hungry Again album to performing with a range of lauded artists, including the Georgia Satellites and Leon Russell. A harmony singer and multi-instrumentalist, Ocker has been Owens’s right-hand collaborator for multiple decades. Ford Theater. Included with Museum admission. Program ticket required.
