Family Program: Flying Songbird Puppet

Saturday, March 30, 2019 - 01:00pm

Learn how to make a flying songbird puppet. Take inspiration from bird imagery in the exhibit Emmylou Harris: Songbird’s Flight, as well as bird motifs featured throughout the galleries, like Roy Rogers’s cowboy boots with eagle designs and Glen Campbell’s electric guitar embellished with a hummingbird. Then, create your own imaginative bird puppet with flapping wings. Ages three and up. Limited seating. Presented in support of Emmylou Harris: Songbird’s Flight. Taylor Swift Education Center.

Admission is included with Museum ticket* or Museum membership.

* Tennessee children ages 18 and under from Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson counties receive free museum admission as part of Community Counts: Museum Admission Program for Locals. Up to two accompanying adults receive 25 percent off admission. Proof of residency required. For more information, please visit Community Counts or inquire at the Museum Box Office.
