Family Program: Explore Steel Guitar | October 20, 2018

Saturday, October 20, 2018 - 01:00pm

Despite the instrument’s relatively recent invention and evolution, the steel guitar has come to epitomize the sound of country music. In this hands-on program, musician/educators Adam Ollendorff and Robin Ruddy will provide a background of the steel guitar family as they explore the sounds of lap steel, pedal steel, and Dobro. Guests will be invited to try out some techniques following the presentation. Ollendorff has performed on steel guitar with Vince Gill, Loretta Lynn, and Kacey Musgraves. Ruddy has toured with Vince Gill, Ray Stevens, and Rod Stewart. Ages 7 and up. Presented in support of the Tennessee STEAM Festival. Limited seating. Included with admission. Free to museum members.
