Pioneer country performer. Born 1905. Died November 16, 1980. Real name: Francis Luther Crow. Country music career active late 1920s-early 1940s. Noted songwriter and singer. Recorded prolifically with Carson Robison and as a solo act during the 1920s and 1930s. Author of the book Americans and Their Songs (New York: Harper & Co., 1942).
