If you could write an inspirational song to lift up yourself or someone you care about, what would you say? Join Museum educator and music professional Adam Ollendorff—who toured as a member of Kacey Musgraves’s band and has written songs recorded by Will Hoge and Keb’ Mo’—in this introductory workshop inspired by Bobby Hebb’s song “Sunny,” which he wrote and recorded “to think of happier times.” Participants will learn the fundamentals of songwriting—including form, theme, and rhyme scheme—then share ideas and write an original song as a group. Presented in support of the Museum’s Discover Bobby Hebb project, part of a series exploring diverse voices in country music. Program made possible by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission. Recommended for ages 7 and up, but all are welcome. Taylor Swift Education Center. Limited seating. Included with Museum admission. Free to Museum members.
