Biography


Songwriter. Born July 14, 1920. Died October 28, 2006. Co-writer of several classic tunes, including “The Long Black Veil,” “Waterloo,” and the gospel standard “One Day at a Time.” Member, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
