Voices in the Hall: Live with Jimmie Allen
Jun 09, 201902:00 PM - 03:00 PM
2:00 – 3:00 PM
Jimmie Allen’s story involves triumph over turbulence. He has overcome significant personal and economic impediments in finding his way to a place as one of contemporary country music’s most intriguing and successful new voices. His first single, “Best Shot,” reached the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, announcing him as a vital force in modern country music. Allen will be the subject of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Voices in the Hall podcast, which normally takes place in the museum’s private audio lair but will in this case be recorded from the stage of the CMA Theater in front of a live audience. Voices in the Hall host Peter Cooper will conduct an interview that explores Allen’s influences and small-town upbringing as well as his propulsive present as the first black artist to launch a career with a #1 hit on country radio. Previous Voices in the Hall guests include Dierks Bentley, Rosanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Larry Gatlin, and Country Music Hall of Fame member Emmylou Harris. CMA Theater. Limited seating.
