Singer-songwriter Amythyst Kiah blends old-time music and blues, and her sound is informed by her knowledge of African American roots music. Kiah’s Grammy-nominated best American roots song, “Black Myself,” is included on her album Wary + Strange, released in June 2021. Her previous albums include Dig and Amythyst Kiah & Her Chest of Glass. Kiah collaborated with Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla, and Allison Russell on Songs of Our Native Daughters, an album released in 2019 on Smithsonian Folkways.
