Online Family Program: Spooky Story Time and Creepy Castanets
Oct 31, 202010:30 AM - 11:15 AM
Meet us on Zoom for a Halloween hootenanny, featuring story time, music, and an art activity. Listen to seasonal songs and a rhythmic reading of the book Halloween Hustle, written by Charlotte Gunnufson. Then, take a virtual peek at percussion instruments in the galleries before making your own creepy castanet instruments. Recommended for ages four and up, but all are welcome. Guardian is required to be present for children under thirteen.
Takes place via Zoom. Space is limited. Registration required. Free.
Recommended materials for the castanet craft:
- Cardboard scrap. We will be demonstrating with a recycled cereal box, but whatever you have at home will do. Plan for at least enough to cut a four inch long rectangle.
- Scissors
- Two pennies or two metal bottle caps
- Hot glue or tacky glue
- Decorating materials, like paint, googly eyes, markers and/or construction paper
By signing up for this program, you are confirming that a guardian will be present with youth under age thirteen. An educator will send a Zoom invitation to you by 9:30 a.m. the morning of the program. Registration closes at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the program, and accommodations are guaranteed for museum members. Please reach out to familyfun@countrymusichalloffame.org if you have any questions.
