Online Family Program: Holiday Hoedown

Join us for hands-on holiday fun for families. Listen to a seasonal story and songs, and learn festive country music history. Then, create your own snowman-themed banjo ornament using recycled materials, inspired by iconic banjos. Recommended for ages four and up, but all are welcome. Guardian is required to be present for children under thirteen.


Takes place via Zoom. Space is limited. Registration required. Free.




Recommended materials:

  • One recycled jar lid
  • One craft stick (Save your Popsicle stick.)
  • 3 to 5 rubber bands
  • Duct or masking tape
  • Glue
  • White paper
  • Markers and other decorating materials




By signing up for this program, you are confirming that a guardian will be present with youth under age thirteen. An educator will send a Zoom invitation to you by 9:30 a.m. the morning of the program. Registration closes at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the program, and accommodations are guaranteed for museum members. Please reach out to if you have any questions.
