Interview: Kacey Musgraves

Jul 06, 2019

2 PM – 3:15 PM

Kacey Musgraves is blazing her own trail as a songwriter and artist, paying tribute to her roots in traditional country music while cohesively blending very diverse influences and creating music on her own terms. Time proclaims, “Musgraves’ superpower is the ability to reach audiences across boundaries,” and her 2018 album, Golden Hour, has indeed transcended genre; it has been named one of the best albums of the year by outlets ranging from NPR, Rolling Stone, and BBC to Complex, GQ, and Pitchfork. Showcasing her ongoing evolution, Golden Hour is Musgraves’ most introspective, intimate album to date, leaving more up to her listeners than ever before. This interview is presented in support of the exhibition Kacey Musgraves: All of the Colors. CMA Theater. Limited seating. Included with museum admission.
