From 1969 through 1971, Johnny Cash hosted a primetime ABC musical variety show that was filmed in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium. The show affirmed Cash’s image as a country favorite while also showcasing new artists and songwriters from pop, rock, and folk music. This special Christmas episode, which originally aired in December 1970, features performances from June Carter, the Everly Brothers, and Roy Orbison. Fifty minutes. Ford Theater.
