The new, feature-length documentary Alan Jackson: Small Town Southern Man chronicles Jackson’s life from his upbringing in Georgia to his 2017 induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Written, produced, and directed by John Albarian, the film is narrated primarily by Jackson, through new and archival interviews, and includes career-spanning performances and music videos. Jackson shares the stories and inspirations that led to his writing hits such as “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,” “Chattahoochee,” “Here in the Real World,” “Livin’ on Love,” and “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).” Newly captured commentary from Jackson’s family, musical colleagues, and close collaborators offers insight into one of country music’s most successful singer-songwriters.
