Creative Zone: DeFord Bailey DIY Harmonicas
Jun 12, 2019
10 AM – 1 PM
Create your own harmonica from household materials, inspired by country music’s first African American star, DeFord Bailey. A popular early fixture on the Grand Ole Opry, Bailey played innovative harmonica music that often was influenced by sounds around him, like chugging trains and barking hounds. Make one with Dad this Father’s Day. What sounds will you play on your harmonicas together? All ages. Taylor Swift Education Center. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members.
