Musician Spotlight: Andy May and Curtis McPeake

Banjo player Curtis McPeake has worked with Danny Davis, Lester Flatt, Wilma Lee & Stoney Cooper, and Bill Monroe over the course of his seventy-year career. As a Nashville session player, he has appeared on hundreds of recordings and was a member of the Opry staff band for eight years. Andy May is a guitarist, mandolin player, singer, songwriter, producer, and music educator. May is also a former guitar grand champion at the Old Time Fiddler's Convention in Union Grove, North Carolina. He has appeared with Merle Haggard, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Nickel Creek, Mike Seeger, and Pete Seeger. In March, McPeake and May released their new album The Good Things (Outweigh the Bad), a collection of old-time and bluegrass standards, which May also produced. Ford Theater. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members.​
