Treasures Untold: Unique Collections from Devoted Fans
Taking its name from a song co-written and popularized by Country Music Hall of Fame® member Jimmie Rodgers, the exhibit focused on the way ardent fans have compellingly documented country music culture and a wide range of country music careers.
Represented in the exhibit were ten collections assembled by private individuals and which through the years had made their way to the Museum archives. Included were homemade journals, scrapbooks, and videos; original song manuscripts; rare and unusual photographs; exceptional and rarely-encountered stringed instruments; newsletters and vintage fan club memorabilia; and personal correspondence.
The collections help to document the life and careers of such historically significant musicians as Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys, the Blue Sky Boys, Jimmie Rodgers, Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters, Marty Robbins, Roy Acuff, the Louvin Brothers, Faron Young, Vernon Dalhart and many others.
