This exhibition will explore a year in the life of Grammy Award-winning superstar Miranda Lambert and will include gowns, stage costumes, awards and much more from the reigning and four-time CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year; Lambert's own Tweets will provide the narrative thread of this journey through the artist's life in 2013.
"The Country Music Hall of Fame is a place to cherish what country music is all about, and I'm so honored to have an exhibit in this treasured hall," said Lambert.
"Miranda Lambert is one of contemporary music's most popular and acclaimed artists, and for good reason," said Museum Director Kyle Young. "She's a dynamic performer; an emotive and powerful vocalist whose voice is equally at home with lyrics tough or tender; and a songwriter with a deft touch for feeling and place. Her numerous hits, from empowering anthems like "Gunpowder and Lead" to introspective set pieces like "The House That Built Me," are rich contributions to country music's storytelling tradition. We are looking forward to taking our visitors behind the scenes with Miranda during her amazing successes in 2013."
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert is the reigning four-time CMA and reigning four-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. Her last album, Four The Record, made history when it debuted atop Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, making Miranda the first country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of her first four albums debut at # 1. All four of those albums have also been certified platinum.
Lambert recently released the song "Automatic," the first single from her highly anticipated fifth album, which will be released later this year. Written by Lambert, Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby, the autobiographical song reflects on the days of pay phones, learning to drive a stick shift, driving to Dallas to buy an Easter dress, recording the country countdown on her cassette recorder and more.
In addition to her award-winning music, Lambert has designed a shoe line that is available at DSW and other retailers across the country. She also dedicates much of her time to her MuttNation Foundation. The foundation has raised more than $1.5 million to aid organizations and governmental institutions or entities whose purpose is to build animal shelters for better care; increase pet adoption and encourage responsible pet guardianship; rehabilitate sick or unsocialized animals; fund spay/neuter programs; and reduce and eliminate euthanasia of healthy animals. She also owns two lifestyle boutiques, general stores she named the Pink Pistol. The stores are located in her hometown of Lindale, TX, and in Tishomingo, OK.
