Born Alabama 1975
With his throwback Outlaw sound, insightful songs, and gruff-yet-tender baritone, Jamey Johnson has found a home on country radio and critic’s best-of lists. Johnson, an ex-Marine, co-wrote #1 hits for Trace Adkins and George Strait before pursuing a darker, more uncompromising artistic direction on his 2008 album, That Lonesome Song. His poignant ballad “In Color” took CMA Song of the Year honors in 2009.
