Film Screening
This film presents 21 examples of Chet Atkins's clean, understated guitar picking. Vintage performances featuring several custom acoustic, classical, and electric guitars are taken from the set of TV shows like Pop Goes The Country and Austin City Limits, as well as the stage at Merlefest and Atkins's home studio in Nashville. Atkins plays solo, leads his band, trades licks with Jerry Reed and Larry Carlton, and showcases a young Terry McMillan on harmonica. 71 minutes. Presented in support of the exhibit Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player, made possible by the Gretsch Company. Additional support provided by GAC. Free.
The educational programs of the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum are funded in part by grants from the Tennessee Art Commission and the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, through an agreement with the Tennessee Art Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
