Songwriter Session: Josh Mirenda

Saturday, December 02, 2017 - 11:30am

The first song Josh Mirenda got recorded by an artist was “Somewhere on a Beach,” which became a #1 hit for Dierks Bentley and went on to achieve platinum status. Great start. Mirenda is an ASCAP-affiliated writer, and “Beach” was named one of the five most-played ASCAP songs of the year in 2016. Mirenda collaborated on the song with four other writers, and “Beach” was also named SESAC song of the year. Mirenda’s other credits include “They Don’t Know” (Jason Aldean) and songs for Granger Smith and Michael Tyler. Mirenda released his first single, “I Got You,” in August. It landed on Spotify’s Wild Country playlist on its first day.
