Family Program: Songwriting 101: Loretta Lynn Style

Saturday, October 14, 2017 - 10:30am

Write a song as a group in this introductory workshop. Nashville-based performer, songwriter, and music educator Michael August will teach the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, imagery, and rhyme scheme. Participants will listen to a Loretta Lynn song to get the creative juices flowing. At the workshop’s end, participants will sing and record their song. August’s contemporary country and modern pop songs have been recorded by more than 30 artists in the U.S., Australia, Canada, and Europe, and have been used on Lifetime and Movie Network, and by Hyatt Hotels.
