Write a song as a group in this introductory workshop. Nashville-based Americana duo Brother and The Hayes will teach the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, imagery, and rhyme scheme. Participants will listen to a Loretta Lynn-Conway Twitty duet to get the creative juices flowing. At the workshop’s end, participants will sing and record their songs. Fronted by siblings Jennie Hayes Kurtz and David Bingman, Brother and The Hayes perform Americana rock in the spirit of Emmylou Harris and Guy Clark, and just released The Dead End EP.
