Family Program: Intro to Jamming: Holiday Style

Saturday, December 16, 2017 - 01:00pm

Do you want to learn to jam? Mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and guitar players of all levels are welcome to join this jam session. Seven-time national fiddle champion Megan Lynch Chowning teaches nation-wide and directs FiddleStar Youth and Adult Fiddle Camps in Nashville. She will teach basic chords to some holiday favorites and discuss playing in different keys; kicking off and ending songs; listening for chord changes; singing harmonies; and much more. Perfect for beginners but intermediate players are welcome, too. Bring your own instrument or use one of ours.

This program takes place in the Museum's Taylor Swift Education Center and is designed for guests ages 10 and up.

Admission is included with Museum ticket* or Museum membership.

* Tennessee children ages 18 and under from Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson counties receive free museum admission as part of Community Counts: Museum Admission Program for Locals. Up to two accompanying adults receive 25 percent off admission. Proof of residency required. For more information, please visit Community Counts or inquire at the Museum Box Office.
