Program takes place:
• 10:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
• 11:15 a.m.–11:45 a.m
In this hands-on workshop, participants learn banjo basics, including a few chords and an old-time Appalachian technique called up-picking, great for playing the melody and accompanying singing. Anna Uptain will lead this introductory class. Uptain is a music educator and multi-instrumentalist who has extensive knowledge about Appalachian music and mountain instruments. Banjos provided or bring your own.
This activity takes place in the Museum's Taylor Swift Education Center and is designed for guests ages 7 and up.
