Family Program: Beginner Mandolin Workshop

Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 10:30am

Program takes place:

• 10:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
• 11:15 a.m.–11:45 p.m.

Originally from Italy, the mandolin is a popular sound in bluegrass and country music. Led by multi-instrumentalist Jeff Burke, participants in this beginner workshop will learn basic chords, strumming techniques, and a few tunes. Burke has taught group instrument and ensemble classes at the Folk School of St. Louis, and he runs the bluegrass jamming classes at the Station Inn in Nashville. Bring your own mandolin or borrow one of ours.

This activity takes place in the Museum's Taylor Swift Education Center and is designed for guests ages 7 and up.

Admission is included with Museum ticket* or Museum membership. Seating is limited.

*Participating children and up to two accompanying adults may take part in this family program and tour the Museum at a discounted rate! Inquire at the Box Office for more information.
