Biography

Songwriter. Born August 2, 1935. Full name: Garland Perry Cochran. Career most active 1960s-1990s. Wrote several Patsy Cline hits, including “I Fall to Pieces” (1961), and “She’s Got You” (1962). Additional songwriting credits include “Make the World Go Away” (recorded by Eddy Arnold, 1965) and “Why Can’t He Be You” (recorded by Loretta Lynn, 1978). Member, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
