Museum Admission Program for Locals
Community Counts
Through Community Counts, youth from eligible Tennessee counties (Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson) are admitted free, and up to two accompanying adults can receive free or discounted admission.
Community Counts is intended for family use and is not applicable to group visits. Community Counts provides free general admission to youth 18 and under from the following counties:
- Cheatham
- Davidson
- Robertson
- Rutherford
- Sumner
- Williamson
- Wilson
For proof of residency, youth may wear a school t-shirt or present one of the following:
- School ID
- Library Card
- Driver’s License or Permit
- A recent report card
If youth do not have proof of residency, accompanying adults must provide a government-issued ID or a utility bill that shows proof of residency. Up to two accompanying adults receive 25 percent off General Museum Admission.
Visitors ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a chaperone who is 16+. Youth 16 and older do not need a chaperone.
Free admission for youth and accompanying adult discounts do not apply to Audio Tours, Studio B Tours, or Hatch Show Print Tours. Guests are welcome to purchase these separately.
Free Museum Admission for up to two adults is available by checking out the Community Counts Passport at any Nashville Public Library location.
Passports must be picked up in person at a library—they are not available digitally—then presented to the Museum’s Information Desk in exchange for Museum tickets. Passports must be presented by the Library cardholder and are only valid for the cardholder and a guest. Proof of residency is required. Passports are non-transferable.
The Community Counts Passport is a partnership of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Nashville Public Library.
Residents of Davidson and bordering counties who receive SNAP and Families First benefits may purchase a Family Membership for $5. This level of membership is regularly $125. Learn more about Museum membership.
To receive discounted membership, families must:
1. Live in one of these Tennessee counties:
- Cheatham
- Davidson
- Robertson
- Rutherford
- Sumner
- Williamson
- Wilson
2. Present at the Museum’s Membership Desk BOTH:
- EBT* card
And one of the following:
- Driver’s License or Permit
- Library Card
- Utility Bill (that shows proof of residency)
3. Pay $5
*An Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card is a state-issued card used to deliver SNAP and Families First benefits to eligible Tennesseans.
Plan Your Visit
Upon arrival at the Museum, Community Counts guests should proceed to the Information Desk to receive a timed ticket. E-tickets are not available for Community Counts guests. If immediate timed entry is sold out, you will be given a ticket for a later time. We ask that you enter the Museum at the time listed on your ticket.
Save time! Reserve timed admission before your visit. Tickets will be available for pick up at the Museum Information Desk. Please remember to bring your proof of residency for a qualifying county. Tickets are not transferable.
We suggest you wear comfortable shoes and plan for at least 90 minutes for the self-guided tour of the Museum. Check out current exhibits and the schedule of programs and activities. Please note that bottled water is permitted in the galleries, but no other food and drink are allowed in the exhibition spaces.
The Museum offers limited-run exhibitions throughout the year, and artifacts rotate in the permanent exhibition. There is always something new to experience.

The Museum is walking distance from WeGo Public Transit routes 6, 52, 55, 64, 93, and other routes that service downtown Nashville.
