BILLY BOB THORNTON AND THE BOXMASTERS TO HOST THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME® AND MUSEUM’S SECOND ANNUAL ALL FOR THE HALL NEW YORK BENEFIT OCTOBER 15TH

Musical Performers Include Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris

NASHVILLE, Tenn., September 30, 2008 -- Billy Bob Thornton and his band, the Boxmasters, have been confirmed to host the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s second annual All for the Hall New York benefit at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square on Wednesday, October 15.

Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters (J.D. Andrew and Mike Butler) will host the one-of-a-kind musical evening and live auction, which will also include a full-band performance by the Boxmasters.  Presented as an old-fashioned Nashville-style “guitar pull,” the benefit will feature songs, stories, unique musical collaborations and memories from some of country music’s biggest names, including Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris.

A multi-talented Academy Award-winning American screenwriter, actor and director, Billy Bob Thornton is also musician and critically acclaimed songwriter. after hitting it big in Hollywood, Thornton continually returns to his first love, music.  He’s had an impressive run of solo albums, including 2001’s Private Radio, 2003’s Edge of the World, 2005’s Hobo and 2007’s Beautiful Door.  Thornton has also appeared on an album by the legendary Earl Scruggs (Earl Scruggs and Friends), Warren Zevon’s Grammy®-winning album The Wind and Anchored In Love: A Tribute to June Carter Cash.

Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters released their debut, a self-titled 2-disc CD, in June 2008 on Vanguard Records.  Thornton describes the Boxmasters as “electric hillbilly-a combination of the Beatles, the Monkees and the Turtles with Del Reeves and Buck Owens and Merle Haggard-all put together.”

Thornton’s latest film, the action/thriller Eagle Eye, with Shia LeBeouf, opened September 26.  The Boxmasters’ Christmas Cheer CD will be released on Vanguard Records on November 11.
